“The best way to prepare for life is to begin to live”
Cora Residential Care promotes Community Respite Care and has taken the 'Direct Community Access Plan' as a model, where a young child or adult with intellectual disability can avail of respite within his or her own home and community.
This project has proven to be an exceptional alternative to respite given through voluntary agencies. It is a far more Person Centered and individualized approach to care, which is provided within the family home or local community where the individual resides. Parents can avail of this respite allowing them to have a regular break whilst their loved one participates in his or her own community with their carer.
Some families may require specialized care for their son or daughter, which can be arranged through our various care teams. Normally the times of delivering care are arranged and decided between clinical staff and parents.
Our tailored approach to care aims to best match our staff with the needs of each individual and their families at all times.
All assessments are carried out and evaluated by our Director of Disabilities. Further to the assessment procedure, a person centered care plan will be drawn up focusing on the goals, needs and wants of the individual and their families.
We welcome family input and participation in all care planning
Our community respite service is available nationwide.
